?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????When you begin building the world for your story, where do you begin? From the first chapter or from the climactic finale? Or does it start with a line of dialogue that grew into an idea for a plot? Or maybe you’re feeling the pull of a certain genre. Whatever it is, I always find it helpful to establish a theme from the outset. This helps with determining your voice and who your readership will be. Everything else (plot, characters etc.) will follow during the world building.

The latest project that I collaborated on started with brainstorming. Lots of it. As a creative person, world building feels like a guilty pleasure – the possibilities are endless.
